We are immensely proud to have participated in the prestigious 9th Biennial Conference of the Asian Society of International Law (ASIANSIL) held in Depok – Bandung – Cimahi, Indonesia, this year. At AP, we have always been steadfast in our commitment to legal excellence and innovation, as reflected in our work through the Legal Lab Division. Our focus on several research areas is emblematic of our unwavering dedication to the advancement of law.
The paper presented at this distinguished conference, “An Overview of the Challenges and Opportunities of Sustainable Business Environment in Indonesia: Safeguarding Indigenous Peoples’ Cultural Heritage from Business-Induced Climate Losses,” penned by Sri Purnama and Fildza Nabila Avianti, illuminates a critical and timely issue.
Indonesia’s rich cultural heritage and the legal frameworks that protect it are subjects that must be at the forefront of our sustainable development goals. In presenting this research, we were able to underscore the importance of a balanced approach between economic growth and cultural preservation, drawing attention to the unique challenges faced by indigenous communities in Indonesia.
The conference theme, “Reconstructing the Bandung Spirit for Asia to Lead in the New Era of International Law,” resonates deeply with our national ethos. The Bandung Conference (1955) marked a turning point in international law, promoting the interests of Asian and African nations in the global legal arena.
In line with the legacy of the Bandung Spirit and AP’s focus on Business and Human Rights, we are dedicated to not only reflecting on our current involvement in the international legal order but also shaping its future. Through interdisciplinary collaboration and a robust understanding of the socio-legal framework, we aim to drive societal change and contribute to the betterment of our world.
The participation of Anggraeni and Partners at ASIANSIL is not merely an academic exercise; it is a reflection of our resolve to lead, innovate, and make a tangible difference in our society. We extend our heartfelt gratitude to the organizing committee and our congratulations to Sri Purnama for representing us so admirably.
Join us in shaping the future. #ASIANSIL2023 #SustainableDevelopment #AnggraeniandPartners #LegalLab
